What We Do
Devo kids get the opportunity to try a wide variety of cycling disciplines throughout the year.
Indoor
January - March
Indoors
Winter is less structured, but we host Wednesday night Zwift group rides and a few “movie nights” at Marian University’s bike training lab.
Current Devo Riders:
Training Peaks | Thursday Nights | 6 pm
Have your parents check their emails for instructions on how to join.
Mountain Biking
April - July
Thursday Nights
Our practices revolve around mountain bikes for most of the kids during the first part of the season. We focus on getting to know each other while enjoying the trails, building skills & confidence, and preparing for a few DINO races should kids want to race.
Our Rides Rotate Between:
Cycloplex - when it’s too wet to ride trails
Town Run
Fort Ben
Brown County - weekends only
2025 Team Mountain Bike Camp
April 26-27 | May 4-5 Rain Dates
Track
May - September
Wednesday Nights
We have a velodrome, so let’s use it. Wednesday’s are Junior night on the track.
Devo Membership Includes:
Bike rental
Coaching
Racing
Group Rides
March - November
As Organized
Riding with others builds skills, fitness, and teamwork.
Through the rest of the year our older, stronger riders gather on the gravel roads of Boone County. Our younger, newer riders explore the Monon, the Tow Path and downtown together.
These rides are organized by groups of parents and their kids and are almost unofficial Midwest Devo group rides.
Cyclocross
August - December // Thursday Nights
Cyclocross is our first love and is a fantastic way for kids to gain experience racing and for families to be able to watch.
In late summer, we transition our Mountain Bike practice to start riding and racing on the grass, dirt, and mud. Skills and drills are on Thursdays, and racing is on weekends. ‘Hot Laps’, or unofficial interval practice, is on Wednesday’s.
We’ll aim to take over 25 Midwest Devo kids racing in US National Championship races in December 2025 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
